On March 6&7th in Carlisle PA ,USA at the Army Heritage Education Center ,The Honorable Company of Horners will hold its annual guild Convention/meeting  ,Many masters will be giving classes and demos and many many displays of extraordinary horn work will be available ,

I will be attending this event hope to meet and greet many there. Yaaaaa finally able to go after  7 years of not being able to attend (that really sucked  not being able to go)

Hello all,I am Phillip A.Montgomery Aka bonecarverpm, I make sculpture ,jewelry and all manner of unique items from natural material such as Horn, bone ,antler,amber .I also cast sterling silver and bronze metal into pendants and other ornaments. Each of the carved pieces is unique and in most cases designed specifically for the person who commissioned it.I hope that you enjoy what I have and will displayed here. my pleasure, seeing those chips fly, getting the depth your going for isn't easy and I DON'T envy you all that chisel sharpening and stropping you have to do to maintain the razor sharpness needed to do the proper job of material removal especially in OAK !

I don't use all the chisels. For the rough work I use two chisels which I have to sharpen with a stone a little two or three times. The oak is good to carve. The razor sharpness I need when making the detail. That are a few (4) small chisels. When carving with them in a quiet way they stay sharp for e long time.
